Howard Sweet to Receive Award from State Bar of Wisconsin for Best Article
Hurley, Burish & Stanton, S.C. attorney Howard A. Sweet, was selected to receive the 2009 Charles Dunn Author Award by the State Bar of Wisconsin. The award recognizes writing excellence in the Wisconsin Lawyer magazine. Howard was selected for his article titled “Understanding Domestic Partnerships in Wisconsin” which was published in the November 2009 issue of Wisconsin Lawyer. The award committee noted that, “not only was the article very timely, but it also included information that practitioners in Wisconsin are not likely to find anywhere else. It was a comprehensive, articulate and broad summary of the legal issues surrounding this very new social, political and legal issue.”
The award will be presented on May 6, 2010, during the volunteer recognition reception at the State Bar of Wisconsin Annual Convention held at the Monona Terrace Convention Center.
Howard Sweet focuses his practice on estate planning, trust and estate administration and representation of tax exempt organizations.
