HBS Attorneys to Speak on Cyberlaw at the ACLU Activist Conference on September 27, 2008


The American Civil Liberties Union of Wisconsin (ACLU-WI) Activist Conference will be held at the Monona Terrace in Madison, Wisconsin, on September 27, 2008. The day will include workshops on voting rights, First Amendment rights in cyberspace, using the Internet as a tool of social change and a mini-film festival of civil liberties films. The special guest will be Barry Steinhardt, the national ACLU expert on government surveillance.

HBS attorneys Erik Guenther and Marcus Berghahn will be presenting at the conference. Their presentation is titled, "Do You Cyber[Law]: Facebook and the First Amendment." The session will explore how the Internet relates to free speech, defamation and the history of anonymous speech. It will also include information about online stalking, internet pornography, file sharing, key stroke loggers, chatrooms and online gambling.
